The first place any visitor would see is your living room. You may have decorated it with a special theme that is unique to you. Go for common designs
White is a good colour when it comes to a common space. It will also make the existing space look bigger. If the walls are white do not choose furniture of odd colours; use neutral colors, especially for a small living room. You can’t go wrong with smooth and calming colours such as light blue, green and yellow. Soft shades also tend to illuminate the room by reflecting light. By spending a small amount you can make something stand out hence brining in a very unique feeling to the place. Add little things
Adding a small pot plant to match the walls and furniture or placing a few vases can add something special; if you keep photographs in the living space, take care to not to place photos with clashing frames. Choosing glass furniture over bulky wooden furniture will give a feeling of more space as you can see through them. Do not go for boxy type fixtures as it will take away the soft but sophisticated sentiment you are trying to establish. A couch of a cool colour can add to that feeling; you can also try adding a beanbag to the mix. Keeping furniture in the middle and not pushed against walls will again add to the expanse as space is visible beyond furniture.
Use available spaces
You can mainly play around with the floor and the roof. Bolder can be better when it comes to the floor and ceiling. If you are not having a large rug, try good quality wool carpet installation. A larger rug or a bigger pattern in the carpet will make the room feel bigger. Experiment with the ceiling but keep it colored white as again the space trick is there with white colour.
